How we check the data

Data checked:

Where the values come from

Every value is taken from the vendor’s own pages: pricing pages, help centres, product pages, terms and privacy policies. Each tool page links to the exact page used and shows the date we checked it. We do not use third-party reviews, affiliate round-ups or a vendor’s claims about its competitors as sources.

Prices

We show the cheapest paid plan, with the monthly price and the per-month price when billed yearly. Prices are in the currency the vendor showed us; some vendors show local currencies depending on where you are, and Japanese pages show yen where the vendor publishes yen prices. Taxes may or may not be included, as noted on each tool page.

Free plans and trials

A free plan is an ongoing free tier. A one-off allowance, such as 30 free minutes when you sign up, is listed as a trial instead.

Max length per file

The longest single recording or upload the vendor documents, for the free plan and for the best paid plan. Some vendors only state a file size, and some state nothing at all.

Does the tool train AI on your data?

LabelMeaning
NoThe vendor states it does not use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models.
Only if you opt inTraining happens only after you actively agree.
Yes, unless you opt outTraining is on by default and you can switch it off.
YesThe vendor’s terms or policy say it trains on your content, with no general opt-out described.
UnclearThe policy we read doesn’t say either way.

We report what the documents say. We cannot audit what a company actually does with your data.

Accuracy

We do not repeat vendors’ accuracy percentages as facts. Accuracy depends on audio quality, accents, speakers and language, and we have not run our own tests yet.

Independence

No tool pays to be listed or placed. Directory tables are alphabetical; guide pages group tools by use case. Some outbound links may become affiliate links; they would be marked, and they would not change what we list or how we rank.
