Otter vs Fireflies: Free Plans, Prices, Limits and Privacy Compared

Both are meeting assistants that join Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls. The differences that usually decide it:
- Free plan. Otter.ai gives 300 minutes a month with a 30-minute cap per conversation. Fireflies.ai marks transcription as unlimited but stores only 400 minutes per team, and downloads need Pro.
- Price. Otter Pro is $16.99 a month, or $8.33 a month billed yearly. Fireflies Pro is $18, or $10 billed yearly, per seat.
- Recording length. Otter Pro stops a conversation at 90 minutes (Business allows 4 hours). Fireflies accepts uploaded files up to 150 minutes on every plan.
- Languages. Otter lists six languages, including Japanese and Chinese. Fireflies advertises 100+, most of them in beta.
- Privacy. Otter’s privacy policy says it trains its AI on de-identified audio and transcriptions. Fireflies says your data is never used for AI training.

- Choose Otter if a fixed 300 free minutes a month suits you and the 30-minute cap per conversation isn’t a problem, or if you need 4-hour conversations on Business.
- Choose Fireflies if you don’t want your meetings used for AI training, need many languages, or want API access on every plan.
